Caramel tuft grass

This short, green grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The needle-like stalks grow in thick clumps that are light and frail.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, caramel tuft.

During the late summer, it produces lots of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a few giant grains.
