Copper Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This small cactus grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall. It splits partway up the body to form 2 asymmetrical stems. Each stem is green, and is covered in sharp spines. The cuboid body is copper, and is covered in brittle orange spines.

It is fast growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are lilac in the center, light green in the middle and yellow at the edges, grow at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is largely flat with 52 widely spaced round-tipped petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like ashes.

The cactus's skin is thin, the cyan flesh is rough, and the azure sap is thin.

It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
