Violet Succulent

This short leaf succulent grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. The very thin stem is pink-red, and is dotted with small black spines. The toothed-edged, circular leaves are solid violet with turquoise zig-zags. Large amounts of them grow from the base in tight-packed layers. The leaves are rigid, and easily come away when pulled.

It is slow growing, taking 15 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are generally beige; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour grows at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 35 petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like onion.

The leaf succulent's skin is very thick, the magenta flesh is smooth, and the violet sap is thin.
