Orange Moss

This orange moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In rainy mountain ranges, On trees, and In marshes.
It is large, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is extremely delicate; it struggles more than most during dry spells.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release dozens of spores.
