Purple Spine Cactus

This giant cactus grows up to 120 feet (36.6 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 2 stiff, pointed stems. Each stem is gray-green, and is covered in hundreds of flexible pale purple spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are generally beige; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour grows at the top, reappearing once every 8 years. The flower head is shaped like a cube made up of 14 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. It has the faintest scent that smells like blood.

The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the muted orange flesh is rubbery, and the silver sap is thin.
