Yellow Moss

This yellow moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In bogs, and In marshes.
It is small, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is overwhelmingly flimsy; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release hundred of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
