Magenta Fruit Tree
Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This small fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 23 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a branched, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, rough, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the very dense wood is white with black speckles.
The abundance of branches are short and thick and are covered with thick bunches of giant, pleated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are gentle purple on the edges and magenta at the center.
In early spring, it produces large amounts of medium-sized, pink blossoms with many layers of petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like wet dog.
In early winter it produces tiny, fan-like fruit. The leathery amber skin is thin and edible when roasted; it is spicy, and the soft blue flesh is sour and juicy. The beige seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.
The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
