Salty Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 48 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, wonky trunk covered in fine, wrinkled, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is white.

The sparse amount of branches are very short and thick and are covered with small bunches of tiny, kidney-shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either orange, or light brown with brown patches.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of large, gentle yellow blossoms with needle-like petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a faint scent that smells like sweat.

In early summer it produces small, oval fruit. The clammy olive skin is thick and sweet, and the crunchy light brown flesh is salty and dry. The orange seed is small and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is extremely resistant to fire damage.
It is suitable for making strong rope
