Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This large shrub grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for around 15 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has numerous wide, straight stems covered in fine, silky, silver and white bark, and the wood inside is black with white speckles.
The branches are short, rigid and upright with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of huge, pleated, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are blue and lime, frail and rough.
In mid-summer it produces large amounts of medium-sized, copper flowers with pleated petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like freshly washed clothes.
It only grows on the most fertile lands.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
