Copperleaf

This average-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for around 11 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several wide, straight stems covered in delicate, cracked, yellow bark, and the wood inside is copper-coloured.

The branches are short stubs that and are covered with large amounts of giant, spear shaped, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are slate on the edges and light grey at the center, delicate and covered in fine hairs.

In mid-spring it produces a thick sheet of small, cream flowers with pleated petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a strong scent that smells like fruity.
