Copperbell

This short flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its copper stem is thick and splits into many branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the tiny, silver leaves are pleated with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

Hundreds of medium-sized flowers grow in drooping bunches like grapes. The flowers are 10 cm (3.9 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of slate. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet made up of handfuls of widely spaced, round-tipped petals. They fall easily.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like coconut, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to butterflies.
