Golden Glow Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This large fruit tree grows up to 40 feet (12.2 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 76 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in thick, silky, black bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale yellow.

The branches are long and slender and are covered with very large amounts of large, circular leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of gray-green that gradient shifts to yellow at the top.

In early spring, it produces hundreds of medium-sized, gold blossoms with 4 flame-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like bleach.

In late summer it produces tiny, needle-like fruit. The fuzzy light brown skin is thin and spicy, and the slightly crunchy light brown flesh is salty and very juicy. The orange seed is large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
