Ground Willow

This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 115 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a flexible, slanted trunk covered in very thick, ridged, brown-green bark, and inside, the dense wood is pine-coloured.

The excessive amount of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of smooth, tiny, asymmetrical leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are generally brown.

In late summer it forms large, bold orange, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
