Cinnamon Sicklevine

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This huge shrub grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for around 92 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous wide, straight stems covered in thick, knobbly, light brown bark, and the wood inside is yellow-brown.

The branches trail down towards the ground that and are covered with large amounts of miniature, very thick, leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of yellow-green that gradient shifts to bold red at the top, flimsy and soft.

In late summer it produces thousands of giant, brown blossoms with sickle shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like cinnamon.

In midwinter pleated fruits ripen. The fuzzy lilac skin is thin and inedible, and the slightly crunchy indigo flesh is salty and very dry. The hazel seeds are large and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

It is very rare outside of a particular area.
The leaves are extremely toxic, and very savoury.
The stems are covered in large spikes.
It commonly grows in large patches.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
