Aquamarine

This small leaf succulent grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall. The very thin stem is grey or yellow, and is covered in sharp spines. The rounded leaves are aquamarine and green. Thick bunches of them grow on flat, moss green branches that trail down towards the ground. The leaves are strong, but easily come away when pulled.

It is very slow growing, taking 27 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with petals that are gentle yellow in the center, blood red in the middle and lime at the edges grows at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 23 curved petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like baby powder.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the sky blue flesh is slimy, and the drab green sap is thin.
