Greybark

This average-sized tree grows up to 42 meters (137.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 99 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, twisting trunk covered in very thick, cracked, brown and grey bark, and inside, the very hard wood is white with black speckles.

The small handful of branches are short stubs, with hundreds of twigs covered with copious amounts of small, yellow-green needles. The needles themselves are resistant.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, orange, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
