Silverleaf Lilac
Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This enormous shrub grows up to 13 feet (4.0 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 139 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has numerous narrow, crooked stems covered in thin, rough, black with white speckled bark, and the wood inside is silver.
The branches trail down across the ground that and are covered with small bunches of huge, long, narrow, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are solid lilac or brown, with gold splotches, light and leathery.
In mid-summer it produces thousands of small, pink flowers with flame-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have no scent.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
It is difficult to cut through.
