Speckled

This modest-sized tree grows up to 58 meters (190.3 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 286 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, wonky trunk covered in hard, waxy, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the soft wood is black with white speckles.

The small handful of branches are short stubs, with hundreds of twigs covered with large amounts of tiny, silver needles. The needles themselves are flexible.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, olive, shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
