Bluefruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 24 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, slanted trunk covered in paper-thin, smooth, dark brown bark, and inside, the very light wood is yellow-brown.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with copious amounts of small, asymmetrical leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in subtle blue and cream varieties.

In early spring, it produces clusters of small, black blossoms with 4 oval-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like a damp log.

In mid-summer it produces , oval fruit. The hairy peach skin is peel-able and edible when cooked; it is sweet and bitter, and the soft amber flesh is spicy and powdery. The yellow seed is large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It can survive a long time without water.
