Mahogany Willow

This short tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 379 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in knobbly, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the light wood is white.

The abundance of branches are very long and slender and are covered with large amounts of smooth, miniature, stiff, pointed leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are azure on the edges and washed-out orange at the center.

In late summer it forms tiny, olive seed pods.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
