Emerald Spiral Moss

This gray moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In moorlands, On rotten logs, and In damp forests.
It is small, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is overwhelmingly flimsy.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release dozens of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
