Copperflower

This modest-sized flower grows up to 1.8 feet (53 cm) tall. Its yellow-green stem is very thick and splits into 6 branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the large, copper leaves are needle-like with jagged edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Dozens of small flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with alternating petals of orange and crimson, with a copper central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 25 petals. They fall easily.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like vanilla, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to bees.
