Magentacling

This small tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 164 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, slanted trunk covered in paper-thin, cracked, yellow bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is mahogany-coloured.

The excessive amount of branches are very short and slender and are covered with handfuls of covered in fine hairs, tiny, very narrow and elongated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are pastel green at the bottom and light brown with crimson splotches at the top.

In early spring, it produces many large, brown blossoms with pleated petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a faint scent that smells like freshly baked bread.

In late summer it forms giant, magenta aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
