Orange-Yellow

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized cactus grows up to 52 feet (15.8 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 3 tapering stems. Each stem is orange-yellow, and is covered in copious amounts of flexible vivid blue spines. The round body is green, and is dotted with small pale orange spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 29 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with each petal a slightly different shade of violet, grow at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of several petals in raised layers. It has a weak scent that smells like lemon.

The cactus's skin is thin, the amber flesh is leathery, and the brilliant orange sap is thin.

It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
