Spiralwood

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 696 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, angular trunk covered in thick, cracked, brown-green bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale brown-grey.

The extensive patches of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with small bunches of leathery, small, pleated leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of gray that gradient shifts to indigo at the top.

In late summer it forms small, orange, shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
