Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In heathlands.
It is small, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is slightly sturdy.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release thousands of spores.
