Bloodvine

Climbing plant type: Creeper (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short creeper is a very fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 17 feet (5.2 meters) and growing as high as 28 feet (8.5 meters). It prefers to grow on rock formations.

It takes 9 months for the red stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are tough and woody.

The long, narrow, covered in fine hairs leaves reach up to 2 inches (5 cm) in length. They are solid violet or blood red, with gold streaks, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces a handful of giant muted blue flowers.

The leaves are high in natural sugars.
