Burgundy Clinger
Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This small vine is a very fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 15 feet (4.6 meters) and growing as high as 101 feet (30.8 meters). It prefers to grow on rock formations.
It takes 5 months for the burgundy stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and are rough and gnarled.
The very thick, sticky leaves reach up to 5 inches (13 cm) in length. They are white on the sides and magenta at the center, and have jagged edges.
During late spring, the vine produces many clusters of average hazel flowers.
