Golden Crescent Moss

This yellow moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps On rotten logs.
It is large, growing up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is overwhelmingly flexible; it can easily endure flooding and draughts.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release dozens of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
