Magenta Spike Cactus

This large cactus grows up to 85 feet (25.9 meters) tall. It splits partway up the body to form 4 stiff, pointed stems. Each stem is brown, and is covered in large amounts of flexible magenta spines.

It is slow growing, taking 44 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are white at the sides and turquoise at the center grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of 8 petals in raised layers. It has a delicate scent that smells like roses.

The cactus's skin is thin, the violet flesh is sticky, and the washed-out green sap is thin.
