Ceruleanvine

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 22 years. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has many wide, curved stems covered in rough, brown bark, and the wood inside is black with white speckles.

The branches are very short and slender with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of miniature, fan-like, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are yellow-green with olive tips, frail and leathery.

In early spring it produces thousands of small, red blossoms with flame-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a weak scent that smells like pot-purri.

In late autumn triangular fruits ripen. The smooth sky blue skin is delicate and inedible, and the slightly crunchy bright green flesh is salty and powdery. The red seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
It is suitable for making strong rope
