Caramelvine

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 126 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has many long and flexible, crooked stems covered in hard, waxy, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is pine-coloured.

The branches trail down across the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of huge, perforated, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are either caramel, or bright green with violet zig-zags, delicate and sticky.

In late spring it produces large amounts of small, amber flowers with 2 cylindrical shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a fairly strong scent that smells like old books.

All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
