Magenta

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 166 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous slender, twisting stems covered in wrinkled, yellow bark, and the wood inside is black with white speckles.

The branches are short stubs with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of huge, wispy, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are either magenta or lime, with white edges, resistant and clammy.

It produces many tiny, white flowers with 2 flame-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like a damp log. In early winter it forms tinylight brown aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
