Crimsonbell

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 15 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several slender, curved stems covered in delicate, ridged, dark gray bark, and the wood inside is pine-coloured.

The branches trail down to the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of large, very thin, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of red that gradient shifts to pink at the top, delicate and clammy.

In early spring it produces a handful of giant, lime flowers with slender, pointed petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like soap.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
The sap is edible and very sour.
