Red Spiral Moss

This red moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In damp forests.
It is giant, growing up to 1.6 feet (48 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps, and is slightly hardy.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release hundred of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
