Blackleaf Tree

This short tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 422 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a very thick, wavy trunk covered in waxy, dark green bark, and inside, the very dense wood is black.

The excessive amount of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with copious amounts of leathery, miniature, thick leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are yellow and azure.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, silver, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
