Amberfruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This enormous fruit tree grows up to 56 feet (17.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 34 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a flexible, twisting trunk covered in fine, knobbly, silver bark, and inside, the very hard wood is black.

The abundance of branches are very short and slender and are covered with copious amounts of huge, shield-shaped leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are emerald with amber tips.

In early spring, it produces handfuls of giant, amber blossoms with pleated petals. They are very delicate and have a weak scent that smells like new carpet.

In late summer it produces tiny, 5 pointed fruit. The smooth bright purple skin is delicate and edible when cooked; it is sour, and the very soft hazel flesh is sweet and dry. The green seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
