Speckled White

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 97 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many branched, crooked stems covered in delicate, smooth, white with black speckled bark, and the wood inside is black with white speckles.

The branches are short and thin with dozens of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of miniature, long, tapering, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are found in dark brown and muted purple varieties, frail and leathery.

It produces many small, turquoise flowers with perforated petals. They are very delicate and have a fairly strong scent that smells like petrol. In midwinter it forms tinycaramel, spiky-shelled seeds.
