Copperwood

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This colossal tree grows up to 130 meters (426.5 feet) tall and lives for over 2,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 2861 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, knobbly, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the light wood is mahogany-coloured.

The small bunches of branches are long and slender, with thousands of twigs covered with large amounts of large, gray needles. The needles themselves are robust.

In late summer it produces small, crimson, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It is bio-luminescent.
