Twistvine

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 34 meters (111.6 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 141 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, crooked trunk covered in cracked, black bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is copper-coloured.

The extensive patches of branches are long and thin and are covered with large amounts of fuzzy, tiny, fan-like leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are either lime or hazel, with muted purple dots.

In late summer it forms large, deep green seed pods.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
