Bluebell

This large flower grows up to 3.1 feet (94 cm) tall. Its yellow stems grow in bunches of 4 and are very thick with a curved tip, and the huge, copper leaves are dark moss green on the underside and are very thin with wavy edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Hundreds of giant flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide, with petals that are generally dark blue; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is made up of 11 petals in raised layers. They are hardy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like cotton, and it has an average amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by one species of insect in particular.
