Copperleaf

This short leaf succulent grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The tapering stem is copper, and is covered in copious amounts of flexible yellow spines. The smooth-edged, sickle shaped leaves are a shade of copper that gradient shifts to cyan at the top. Thick bunches of them grow from the base in no particular order. The leaves are rigid, but do not detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 23 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are either violet or green, with a yellow center grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a dish made up of 4 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like fermented fruit.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the green flesh is sticky, and the pastel blue sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.
