Bluefire Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 646 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, crooked trunk covered in thick, cracked, dark green bark, and inside, the light wood is gray.

The excessive amount of branches are short, thin and wispy and are covered with large amounts of crispy, giant, slender, pointed leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of yellow-green or gold that gradient shifts to florescent blue at the top.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of small, white blossoms with 8 oblong shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a strong scent that smells like cigarette smoke.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, hazel, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It is bio-luminescent.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
