Silvervine

This short flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its silver stem is very thin and straight with a curved tip, and the tiny, yellow-green leaves are long, narrow with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

A single small flower sits at the end of the stem. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with petals that are dark brown at the sides and green at the center. The flower head is made up of 45 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight sphere. They fall easily.

It has a delicate scent that smells like lemon, and it has a modest amount of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
