Silverbrush

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 152 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several slender, straight stems covered in thick, rough, silver and white bark, and the wood inside is brown.

The branches are long and thick with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of huge, asymmetrical, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are lime and yellow, strong and rough.

It produces many balls of small, silver flowers with perforated petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like burning wood. In late autumn it forms giantsilver, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
