Amberfruit

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 16 feet (4.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 75 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in thick, ridged, gray bark, and inside, the hard wood is mahogany-coloured.

The branches are very long and slender and are covered with large amounts of giant, fan-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are amber on the edges and gentle yellow at the center.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of tiny, silver blossoms with broad, flat petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a weak scent that smells like a newborn baby.

In late autumn it produces small, spherical fruit. The rubbery light green skin is thick and inedible, and the slightly crunchy caramel flesh is sweet and very juicy. The slate seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
