Violetgrass

Grass type: Perennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This modest-sized, moss green grass grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The long, tapering stalks grow in thin clumps that are strong.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, violet spikelet.

During the late autumn, it produces lots of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with plenty of medium-sized grains.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
It is often home to a particular bird species.
It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
