Copperwood

Shrub type: Coniferous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 16 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of wide, twisting stems covered in waxy, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is white with black speckles.

The branches are short stubs that and are covered with sparse amounts of giant, needle-like, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of gray-green that gradient shifts to brilliant red at the top, sturdy and fuzzy.

It produces large amounts of giant, caramel flowers with sickle shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a powerful scent that smells like varnish. In late autumn it forms smalllight brown, shelled seeds.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It can grow in even the most barren lands.
It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
