Violet

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 184 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous narrow, crooked stems covered in wrinkled, yellow bark, and the wood inside is yellow-brown.

The branches are very short, thin and wispy that and are covered with sparse amounts of small, thick, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either violet or washed-out blue, with copper streaks, flimsy and covered in fine hairs.

In late spring it produces thousands of medium-sized, slate flowers with oval-shaped petals. They are very delicate and have the faintest scent that smells like cheap aftershave.
