Sky Blue Petal

This average-sized flower grows up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. Its yellow-green stem is very thin, and the small, yellow-green leaves are thin with wavy edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Each stem splits 5 to 8 times; a single tiny flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide, with petals that are generally sky blue; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is shaped like a tube with 23 raised, round-tipped petals. They detach easily.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like lemon, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
